HIP SLIDE DRILL

 CORRECT

This is the correct hip motion.  Start your forward swing with a slight lateral hip motion while keeping the shoulders coiled up or closed.  The hips should rotate open after this lateral motion occurs.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

INCORRECT

The hips have turned left much too quickly, prior to any lateral motion, causing a spin out and an outside in swing path.

 INCORRECT

The hips have moved laterally too far causing the whole body to move ahead of the ball and will causes overuse of the hands to square the clubface up.
